Grand Charity Auction

GRAND CHARITY AUCTION
30 May 2008
Park Hyatt Hotel, Tokyo

The 3rd Grand Charity auction held on 30 May 2008 at the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku was a fantastic evening with a champagne reception and excellent dinner. We were delighted to welcome special guest Bobby Valentine from Chiba Lotte Marines. Heang Chhor, President of McKinsey & Co Japan, was the main speaker, setting the theme of Hope that guided us through the evening.. Experienced auctioneer Tetsuji Shibayama led the 200 guests through the exciting list of Live auction items generously donated by so many organisations.

The auction achieved a net income in excess of 30 million yen - an amazing achievement that will enable Refugees International Japan to support many more projects for those displaced by conflict around the world.

Refugees International Japan is grateful to the chief sponsors for the evening: the Park Hyatt, Rolls Royce Turbines, Wine in Style, CLSA, Herbert Smith and Enoteca, as well as to the many generous donations received from companies and individuals for auction.

Tatsuya Ishii, famous as a vocalist and producer and creator of a wide range of art, music, lyrics and theatrical design has generously donated sculptures from his IT man series. The bidding for these amazing sculptures continues until 30 June - please contact: auction@refugeesinternationaljapan.org for information.

Everyone's donation is important to us - thank you very much.

"We were delighted to support last year's charity auction and enjoyed being associated with such prestigious brands and prizes. Although it was not our intention, we were lucky enough to gain a new regular customer as a result, so in a really nice way everyone has won out of this small donation!"
