Schools Programme

We welcome initiatives from schools to raise awareness of the plight of refugees and internally displaced persons. Please call us to arrange speakers or inform us of fund-raising events.
We will include events for Refugees International Japan below - with photos if you have them.

Junten School
Students from Junten Junior High School in Oji, Tokyo, took part in a sponsored run on 16th February 2008.  It was windy cold day but about 200 students turned out to run and raise funds for Refugees International Japan and those who could not attend on the 16th had another opportunity the following week. The students collected money from parents and staff members generously contributed too. Two representatives from Refugees International Japan received the donation of at the Opening Assembly of the 2008/09 school year.

American School in Japan
On 15th May Jane Best and Kate Hurst were invited to do a presentation to the Sixth Grade students of the American School in Japan. The invitation came from the students who are planning a charity event on 30 May to raise funds for Refugees International Japan. The presentation was linked to studies the students had done on refugee issues.
