Donate Time

We depend on volunteers to organize and run our fund-raising activities. Your time and enthusiasm are important. There are many ways in which you can contribute whether with specific skills or by your presence and effort. The rewards of volunteering include job satisfaction from contributing to a worthwhile cause, working in an international environment, and professional and personal development opportunities to add to your resume.

We offer internships to students studying related topics or with an interest in conflict and displacement issues. Opportunities are limited as we can only host one or two interns at any time.

"Working at RIJ was a wonderful experience!  As a law student with an interest in human rights, I really enjoyed the opportunity to research the humanitarian and refugee laws at work in places around the world. I also conducted interviews with several NGO's that have received grants from RIJ, and it was fascinating uncovering the similarities and the differences between Japanese and Western NGOs, and learning about the various and creative ways that RIJ funds are being used to help people across the globe.   Interning at RIJ provided me with invaluable firsthand exposure to Tokyo's human rights community and helped to confirm my own goal of pursuing a career in human rights law."
